Weis used to be good, now it is just average. Nice people working there make it pleasant for shopping. I've been shopping at Joppa Road Weis for 31 years as of July 2017. By the way New Jersey is not a local farm source. Locally grown is a bit of a fib.
The best grocer store ever. So much more reasonably priced items than Giant or Safeway most name-brand items are buy-one, get one half priced. The staff is incredibly warm, friendly and always helpful. I do miss Rodney - absolutely the best store manager. Thank you Weis
People who abuse power with poor customer service should not be a manager of a grocery store.
Large store, well lit, clean. Layout of the store is clearly designed to make you go down more aisles vs shopping efficiency. Store is open late, but there are no cashiers, you have to do self checkout, which is a pain with a cart full of groceries and a tiny bagging area. Deli, bakery, seafood, and meat counters, along with the pharmacy and customer service both are also closed after "normal" hours. Though, not sure what the bakery hours are, have never seen a person working there, even during the day.
On Saturday I spoke with a manager at Weis on Joppa rd. in Nottingham and requested boxes. I have been coming to this store for many years and until this past year it was always a great store. Today is the last straw. As I mentioned I spoke with the manager on duty and requested boxes to use for closing my store in the shopping center. He told me there was a delivery tonight(Sat 4/1/2017) and to pick them up tomorrow when the store was open. I went their and now one was aware of me asking for boxes to be saved. They contacted someone from dairy and they had boxes. Then another employee showed me a stack of boxes in the grocery area. As I was taking the second load of boxes out a woman stopped me asking me why I was taking her boxes in a very demanding tone. I explained that I spoke to the manager last night and asked for boxes and he told me they were getting a delivery latter and would have them save me the boxes. These were the boxes I was told to take. She then asked who told you to take these they should not have given you these boxes. I then asked to speak with the manager she stated I am the manager and you can not take these boxes. I then asked to speak with the manager on duty last night. he is off and is not her. I am the main store manager anyway. So lets say the tone she spoke was not polite and she did not have to make a seen over a long term customer (30years+) in the front of the entrance as other customers walked in. I told her I would be contacting corporate office and she ask why and I told her. Her rude tone and poor response to a customer that spoke to a manager and was promised boxes from a delivery and her attitude that she was the top dog. And how she has to cause a seen in front of the store while other customers were watching. I expect a call on Monday morning to corporate office from me. I tried today but since it is Sunday I did not get an answer. So since she(Annette) is the manager at this location and has cost you a customer.
Cheaper on the most part than Giant. Large bakery selection with fresh items daily. Very clean store and friendly staff. Plenty of self checkouts which are always supervised.
