I love the food and atmosphere in Red Emma's. This is the only restaurant who makes me enjoy vegan cheese! Yummy!
Their coffee, Thread, is excellent and their all vegetarian menu is good. I would't plan a meal here if i was too hungry though. And the bookstore is great, lots of interesting finds. They have a really good section on Baltimore history.
I came here for the first time this morning and ordered the brown sugar something-something latte. Not bad. Wasn’t very hot tho but it def wasn’t cold. Flavorful and they seem to have a good selection of books, too.
Red Emma's has become a Baltimore institution! It is a great place to meet people or run into people you know. It is also the hub for left leaning people and radicals in the city. There really isn't anywhere else in the same category. They are always hosting poetry readings, freedom schools, book talks, and other things like that.
My boyfriend loves Red Emma's. I'm not a huge vegan food person but it's pretty good. I love that it's a co-op, and that there's a cool bookstore. We've also gone to a cool talk by some amateur San Francisco history authors. It's just a different kind of place, and I respect all that it does and where.
I love this place. The falafel wraps and the nachos are awesome. I can get delicious vegan pastries and non-dairy ice cream here! The vibe is really nice. There's this one guy who works behind the counter to close on Friday nights, he's rude as hell though.
Eh, everything isn’t for everyone and this place isn’t for me. I understand and respect their motives & politics, but the sketchy crowd out front is enough to keep me away.
