If you like books and like to read this is going to be your favorite place in Baltimore. Its basically one big book storage where you can walk in and just take the books you like for free. And trust me you can find a very good books in a very good shape - some of it almost new. A lot of categories too. From history books, fiction, non fiction, books for kids etc... They have 4 big shelves just for sf and horror with classics from the genre. Parking can be tricky if you want to park in front of the building but otherwise a lot of space in the near around neighborhoods. Long live the Book Thing!!!

We drove from baltimore county to donate a big box of books. I went inside looking for someone to direct me where to donate a large box of books. When I found the owner behind closed doors, he was very rude to me and totally annoyed that I looked behind the doors for someone to help us out. A polite "let me show you" would have been appreciated.
All you can give and take books, what's not to love. The volunteers who organize it all are amazing and willing to help you find any book you are looking for. Say yes to books, for free!
