I've been meaning to write a review for Hilltop Hardware for some time now but when I get home with my hardware or tools, I go straight to work and forget to write the review.
These folks are so knowledgeable and really have a wealth of knowledge about old houses and their systems. They never cease to amaze me; often times I don't even have to finish my explanation and they are off to get what I need. A trusted hardware store, a resource for owners of old homes!
Better than Lowes and home depot
These guys are as friendly as they come, quick to attend to customers, and just downright entertaining. I usually leave there with a grin on my face.

Hilltop Hardware is a fantastic place to go for hard-to-find replacement parts for old toilets, bathrooms, kitchens and any project I may be working on in my older "dated" home. The gentlemen that work here are always eager to help, seem to have a magical understanding of what they have in thier Olivanders-Wand-Shop-like storage aisles and have come to the rescue in many of my DIY fix-it projects that seemed to go no where fast after preliminary visits to big box hardware stores. I love Hilltop Hardware and all the wonderful people that work there.
I have a 110-year old home and often have trouble finding replacements for electrical, plumbing, heating, gutter, fittings, trim, door, and other items at the Big Box stores. Hilltop has never let me down. I go in, tell them what I'm trying to fix, restore, improve, or build, and they always have good advice, provide instruction and tips, and usually have just the items I need. A few times while there, I have seen them actually work on a particularly difficult problem a customer has - one for which the customer was able to bring the troublesome issue in to the store. I often marvel at their creativity.
