I have been very disappointed again and again by the service at this office. I don't have anything against the individual doctors, and some of them are really nice but the overall experience makes it impossible to like.
My next appt was with Dr. Hoffman, I was immediately discouraged as her knowledge of sickle cell disease was not extensive, although everyone said she knew how to treat sickle cell patients. I told her that my pain management did not want to treat me because I am pregnant and that they referred me to my OB for treatment. She agreed to continue my pain management treatment and told me she would call in my meds to the pharmacy. 2 days later my meds still were not call in. I called the office and Dr. Tull sent over my medication but not the right quantity. I was to be prescribed 90, like my prior pain management prescribed me. She prescribed me 30. I didn't make a big fuss about it. I just accepted it and hoped I wouldn't need to take as much.
I love this practice - the clinicians are caring, understanding, and reachable. I have used myChart for questions and always have them answered quickly and feel much better about things. I had an awful experience w/my first delivery and Dr Hoffman saw me every visit for my 2nd baby - and then delivered him! I had her cell phone at the end, and she was extremely reachable. We talked about the birth plan and I was even able to modify it so that I could see him be born (via schedule C) - She even stayed post shift to be there for the delivery which I will never be able to thank her enough for. I have also seen Dr G, Dr Mudd, and Dr Anderson Tull at the practice (due to complications during pregnancy 2) and adore them all. It feels like a visit with close friends. I personally love the Dundalk office because it's easy to park and get in and out (esp with baby in tow), though the downtown office is great too. My birth @Mercy had a great team as well and my NP Anesthetist (Stephanie) was outstanding! She kept me comfortable even when nausea came in strong and I felt sick... and also helped advocate for me to see my baby come out (which I know is not for all but I will never forget that moment!)! I plan to stay with this practice for future care and am so glad to have them nearby!
My warning is to all of the ladies that have illnesses. This is not the OB for you. They will not care. They will not take your disease seriously. Especially if you have sickle cell disease. & If you do have to use this office, Do not go to Dr. Angela Anderson Tull...she is not caring, she is incompetent, very arrogant and rude. However, Dr. G was a sweetheart. If you have to go here try to make your appt. with her.
They refused to see me before I was 8 weeks pregnant even after I explained my urgent situation.
I have been with this office for 7 years I Love them Dr Erica Nicolson did my c section did a absolute wonderful job I really love dr nicolson and dr hoffman really never got to meet or see any of the other doctors but I am now 15weeks with my last baby and I wouldnt choose any other doctor but this practice
My doctor only came to the delivery room when it was time to push, while I was bombarded with unwanted other staff visits the whole labor, and after the birth I only saw my doctor for 5 minutes, no actual check up, three days after, before being released from the hospital. Totally impersonal and minimal attention. if this is all your cup of tea, by all means go to them.
I suffer from sickle cell disease and my ob retired and sent all of her patients to this ob office. My first visit I seen Dr. Angela Anderson Tull, she measured my fetus wrong. The measurements she gave me set my due date back by a whole week. The next day I ended up in the ER for my sickle cell disease and the tech measured me and told me my due date was what it was for originally. Reflag #1.
Really enjoyed my prenatal visits. Friendly staff, nurses, & doctors. I would highly recommend them to my family and friends. Teresa Hoffman is the best!
They have poor telephone customer service. You have to wait through the whole description of options even if you know the extension, they never start answering the phones on time, and always stop answering before the end of office hours.
They charge 10$ to send your records to another doctor (Who does that?) and require a faxed filled out form.
3 weeks later, I was in a very painful sickle cell crisis (sickle cell is when your normal oval shaped blood cells turn into a sticky C shape, clogging your veins and causing a blockage of your blood flow which causes excruciating pain and can cause your organs not to receive the blood flow and oxygen that it needs) I called their offices to get a refill of my medication. Dr. Anderson Tull called me back and told me, "Im not refilling your prescription, you need to find a pain management that will treat pregnant woman". I said okay, thats fine but why wasn't I told this my first appt. I could have been trying to set up an appt before I ran out of meds. I asked her what I was to do until I was able to find a pain management that would accept me being pregnant and she said, I don't know but I'm not giving you anything. Knowing that I was in a crisis, knowing the danger of my pain getting worse and the stress is causes on your body and fetus she gave me no help. Her tone was so condescending and rude. I asked her what I did to be treated the way she was treating me and she told me that I could find another OB that deals more with sickle cell. I was literally in tears as I couldn't understand why I was being treated that way. I spoke to a different doctor later that night who told me that she would have Dr. Hoffman call me the next morning, as she was the one who originally said she could treat me. I never received a call back from anyone at all. I have since made a new patient appt with another OB at UMD.
