I am a student here and my experience has been noting but positive! There is so much opportunity and support, and there is a definite sense of community. The course work is hard as all get out, but a school doesn't become one off the top art schools in the nation for being easy. I am honored to call MICA my school and my home.
This is great and with such professional success, how would you handle this one: someone has my outstanding artist son somewhere, St. Benedict st, Lehman, or Millington might know in 21223. For 2.5 years they will not let him visit me at home, and I wonder if he is free enough to see his way through to his vision for his future. I wonder if these are the left? I hope they do not use med rops on me too! I wonder if these are the caps? or are these the ebonies? I wish you could see how good an artist Robert is. Human Resources at this school is utter nonsense. Totally wasted my time - called me out of the blue for an interview because they had just had someone resign. Never mind they rejected me for the position I actually had applied for weeks ago. Freida Johnson, the HR 'specialist' who spoke with me over the phone was very rude and seemed only to care about getting down the list of the dozens of other people she was enlisted to call in desperation. She also seemed very unimpressed that I wasn't beaming with enthusiasm over the prospect of a part-time, temporary job. Still, she told me I would hear back within one business day to have an interview scheduled. Did not hear anything back. Wrote to her and was told 'We will let you know if we need you to come in." I then wrote to the vice president and director of the human resources that I was unhappy with this type of treatment. The director, Laura Rossi, wrote me back a disgustingly recycled piece of bureaucratic jargon, essentially excusing everything they did, not addressing the unfair nature of it, and chalking it up to being a misunderstanding (on my part of course). That's one way of addressing critical feedback you clearly don't want to hear or deal with. It's peculiar she denied basically everything this incompetent Freida Johnson did, and then contradicted it all by saying they never commit to onsite interviews! Maybe you should tell your employees not to end the conversation with, "Someone will get back to you within one business day to schedule an interview." Will never give this place the time of day again, and certainly hope this serves as a warning to NOT DEAL with their corrupted HR department!
Class of '00, crazy experience. Loved every second. Learned a lot. CYA, great people
MICA is an fantastic place to be at! One of the nation's top art schools and it is home to many majors that any artist or designer would love. The courses are hardcore and very informative and the professors and absolutely amazing! I am proud to call mica my home!
